Open Gardens Day, 22 April 2007
The Cabrera Open Gardens Day has become something of a tradition, when nearly a dozen of our most enthusiastic and able gardeners throw their gardens open to the public. A steady stream of visitors stroll through the village to see how fertile soil and barren rock can all be turned into an attractive environment, and to marvel at the amazing views from so many of the plots. Tea and cakes are available along the way to maintain energy levels as visitors make their way from the highest garden to the lowest.
Although the weather in the run-up to this year's Open Gardens was pretty unkind, it did finally turn at the very last moment. The result was that a large number of visitors passed through the gates and the event passed off as a great success. Thanks to all those people who made their gardens available or who helped in other ways.
The event made €3000 which will go to Asprodalba in Vera.
